The city of Barberton needed a place for recreation. It was decided a movie theater would be the perfect solution. Construction of the West Theatre began in 1947 and was completed in 1948. The theater became a second run theater until January 31st, 2008. The theater was closed February and March to allow for some repairs and maintenance work to be completed. On April 4th, the theater's name changed to Ceetus West, and the first concert was held featuring the classic rock bands, Silver Eclipse and RTTL.
The theater currently has 572 seats. It has a stage that is 26 feet wide, 3 and a half feet tall, and 7 feet deep. In the middle of the stage, it is 12 feet deep. There is 24 feet between the stage and the first row of seats.
